Digvijay Singh faces after-effects of 'fraud Ramdev' comment

Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Jun 6: Sedition charge has been filed against Congress general secretary and former Madhya Pradesh CM, Digvijay Singh. It seems that the Congress leader has confronted with the aftereffects of "fraud Baba Ramdev" comment.

An advocate Sudhir Ojha in Bihar moved a local court and filed a sedition charge on Digvijay. The charge demanded to arrest Digvijay under section 154(A) (sedition), 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the IPC.

On Sunday, Jun 5, Digvijay criticised Baba ramdev and called him (Ramdev) a "thug (cheat)". After the yoga guru was booted out from Delhi's Ramlila Maidan, Digvijay claimed, "Don't bring any politics in this. The kind of treatment needed to be meted out to a fraud has been meted out to him."

The sedition charge was not the only reaction from Baba's followers and supporters. Reports claimed that Digvijay's house was pelted by some unidentified people on Monday.

However, security has been beefed up at Digvijay's house and sources also informed that the Congress bombshell has cancelled his meetings over the recent attack.
