Citing the forceful eviction of Baba Ramdev from the national capital, the BJP leaders showed their protest against the Delhi police and its brutality on Baba and his followers.
After their meeting with the president, senior BJP leader LK Advani reiterated his demand to conduct an emergency Parliament session where both opposition parties and government would receive a chance to debate over Baba Ramdev and several corruption allegations against the government.
"We asked for Joint Parliamentary panel on corruption issues," said Advani while addressing the press after holding meeting with Pratibha Patil.
BJP started a 24-hour agitation - "satyagraha" and accused Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi "directly responsible" for the forceful eviction of Baba Ramdev from the national capital.
On Monday, the Supreme Court also issued a notice to the central government over the eviction on Baba Ramdev. The yoga guru had been holding a hunger strike in Delhi demanding to bring back black money stashed abroad. He (Ramdev) was booted out from the capital after police attacked the Baba and his followers at Ramlila Maidan on Saturday, Jun 4.
However, Ramdev resumed his fast in Haridwar and urged a nation-wide protest against Manmohan Singh and his government.
