2G:CBI may respond to Jaya-BJP's demand; FIR against Maran?
CBI soon may lodge FIR against the grand nephew of the former Tamil Nadu CM, M Karunanidhi, Maran. Meanwhile, reports also claimed that well-known lawyer and the right hand of Gandhian crusader Anna Hazare, Prashant Bhushan lodged an affidavit demanding a proper CBI inquiry against the union textile minister.
Maran, who seems to be the new casualty in the 2G spectrum scam, had allegedly favoured telecom licenses to certain telecom companies and denied licenses to certain others. The report also states that the forced delay led to telecom company Aircel striking a deal with Maxis that has invested heavily in Sun TV, that is owned by the Maran family.
On Wednesday, Jun 1 both Jayalalithaa and BJP raised voice against Maran and demanded Maran's resignation from PM's cabinet.
The Tamil Nadu CM and the opposition party also demanded for CBI inquiry as Bhushan's affidavit in the Supreme Court sought.
Meanwhile, Maran rushed to the union telecom minister Kapil Sibal on Wednesday and sources claimed that Maran soon will issue a statement over all allegations against him (Maran).
