New York, May 31: Kamal Nath, Union Urban Development Minister, along with the Indian National Congress have to appear before a US Federal Court on Sept. 21 for pre-trial oral arguments in a case related to their alleged involvements in the 1984 anti-sikh riots.

Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), a US based human rights advocacy group and some victims of the 1984 riots under Alien Tort Claims Act (ATCA) and Torture Victim Protection Act (TVPA) had filed a case, depending on which the court on May 1, had issued summons against Nath and Congress Party.

SFJ legal advisor Gurpatwant Singh Pannun charged the Congress for "conspiring, aiding, abetting and carrying out organized attacks on Sikh population of India in November 1984."

He also added that the Plaintiffs would prove Congress's crucial involvement and cold-blooded plans in Sikh killings in India on November, 1984.

Also, the Right to Information Act 2005 (RTI) shows the official figures of the Sikhs in India who were killed in the states where Congress was in power in November 1984.
