Bangalore, May 31: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by BS Yeddyurappa has succeeded to complete three years of reign in Karnataka, though amid agonising circumstances. The CM finally called off his Operation Lotus which was initiated to lure opposition leaders and rebel MLAs.

"Operation Lotus was carried out in the state as Congress and JD(S) were luring BJP MLAs to dethrone my Government. That's why it was initiated by BJP," said Yeddyurappa and also claimed that his main focus would be "kalyana Karnataka (welfare of Karnataka)."

"I will complete five years and in the remaining two years my focus and thrust will be to ensure education to all the people in rural areas and ensure wholesome development of the state without discrimination," asserted Yeddyurappa.

However, the Karnataka CM retained his support to Bellary brothers as he claimed, "I will await the Supreme Court verdict on illegal mining before initiating any action against them (Reddy brothers)."

Recently, BJP has landed in a fresh controversy over the induction of Reddy brothers in Karnataka assembly. The heat of state politics touched the party high command when Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley have been engaged in a war of words on Bellary brothers who are accused of illegal mining in the state.
