Srinagar, May 31: Jammu Kashmir police and army on Tuesday, May 31 unearthed a major racket in Sopore when large number of arms and ammunition were found out in the area.

Police officials informed that five AK rifles, 13 pistols, huge cache of arms and ammunition have been recovered from Sopore. The shocking revelation came just after a day when the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah hurled his attack on Indian army claiming that Pakistani terrorists continue to infiltrate through Line of Control (LoC).

Earlier, Omar Abdullah said, "There is credible information to suggest that there have been successful attempts of infiltration last month (Apr). The figure has yet to verify by the multi-agency centre in Delhi. So as of now it is provisional but there is an indication that anything between 30-40 terrorists have crossed over and this information was independently provided both by the state intelligence agencies as well as central intelligence agencies."

However, rejecting the CM's claim, Lieutenant General Parnaik said, "A large number of attempts have been made since last month (Apr) but to the best of our knowledge they have not succeeded in infiltrating as yet. There are reports of a few groups having infiltrated already in certain traditional areas, but it will have to be confirmed on ground by us, and by the security agencies and the intelligence agencies."

The recent revelation by the army and Jammu Kashmir police have clearly disclosed that terrorists are very much active in the valley. The region has witnessed the time of peace after a long time but such terror activities soon may harm peace in the region.
