Tripura govt bans slaughter of animals in open places
Chairperson of Agartala Municipal Council, Prafullajit Sinha said government has issued a notification on Friday, May 27, banning the slaughtering of animals in open places in the state including in temples and added stringent actions would be taken against the persons involved in killing the animals.
Different social bodies had raised their voice against killing of animals in open places like pavements, roadside shops, markets which affected the psychology of children, Sinha told reporters.
He said, goats, buffaloes and pigeons are sacrificed in different temples which were also notified as illegal and government would take stern action against them who violate rules.
