Dog bite menace havocs Andhra Pradesh
Three-year-old Siva from Kandrakotta village of Peddapuram Mandal, who was bitten by a dog on Wednesday (May 25), died while undergoing treatment in the Kakinada Government General Hospital here, hospital sources said.
Meanwhile, a dog went berserk and bit 30 people in Kandrakota and Marlopa village in Peddapuram, an official said. The condition of 27 of the 30 people is out of danger, an official said.
State ministers P Viswaroop, T Narasimham, A Ramanarayana Reddy visited them and inquired about their health.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has already sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 50,000 each to the kin of four persons who died due to dog bite earlier.
The state government had also announced that adequate dosages of Antiretroviral (ARV) was available in all GGH and primary health centres in the district.
The Municipal Corporation of Rajahmundry had launched a special drive to vaccinate stray dogs recently.
