Maoists torch six vehicles in Jharkhand
Around 40 Maoists laced with fire-arms intercepted the vehicles, asked the drivers, cleaners and passengers to get down before setting them ablaze on Medininagar-Aurangabad Road under Chatarpur police station last night, Superintendent of Police Anup T Mathew said.
The vehicles, including two pick-up vans and a trekker, were badly damaged in the incident. The trucks laden with rice, wheat and dal were on its way to Palamu from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Meanwhile, police forces rushed to the spot and launched a massive search operation to track down the culprits.
