According to Pakistani media reports, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Jiang Yu assured the world, especially the US that any attack on Pakistan will be construed as an attack on China.
The statement of Jiang Yu came when Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has visited China recently. Gilani, during his China visit, said, "I have no doubt that Chinese sagacity and thought will have a profoundly beneficial impact for the mankind, as a whole. We are happy to see China shape the Twenty First Century world."
The comments acquire significance in light of the recent fall-out between the USA and Pakistan in the aftermath of the late-night raid that killed Osama bin Laden, in Abbottabad near Islamabad.
Gilani also had added, "Pakistan and China will continue to build new bridges and enhance connectivity."
