First Indian couple climbs Mt Everest
32-year-old, Sushma Kaushik and 25-year-old, Vikash Kaushik reached the world's highest summit, the 8,848 metre high Mt Everest, on Friday, according to Ang Tshering Sherpa of the Asian Trekking, who organised the expedition.
Another 48-year-old climber Premlata Agrawal, who accompanied the couple became the oldest Indian woman to climb Everest.
Sushma, a policewoman, and Vikas were accompanied by two Nepali guides, Lhakpa Nuru Sherpa and Tenzing Dorjee Sherpa, Ang Tshering said.
Other Indian climbers who scaled the Everest today were Sunita Singh, Pawan Grewa and Narinder Singh.
