Rahul Gandhi
Lucknow/New Delhi, May 20: When Rahul Gandhi set up a mission to investigate the massive atrocities against the villagers in the Bhatta and Parsaul, Greater Noida, little did he anticipate that the fact finding mission will lead to major embarrassment and leave him red-faced. The UP government led by Mayawati has rubbished all of Rahul"s claims and vehemently denied all allegations.

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar has been quoted as saying, “All allegations, especially on rape, are absolutely baseless. Even the forensics report has clarified that there were no human remains or bones." The facts that came out have embarrassed the Congress making them go on damage-control mode.

The Congress General Sect went one step ahead by presenting his half-baked facts to the Prime Minister with photographic evidence that fell flat. In what appears to be a hidden agenda, Rahul continues his provocative speech against the Mayawati government and his mother and Congress President Sonia Gandhi backed the claims in the Varanasi plenary session of the Congress.

Sonia said in strong words, “The state has become andher nagri (dark city), where there is no law and order. The only politics being played in UP is caste politics."

The actual casualty of the Bhatta-Parsaul violence was 4 lives, while Rahul had claimed, “74 stacks of hay were set on fire. There were bones in them. Women too were raped." Rahul taking on the UP administration had triggered a political storm in the Centre. The Party spokesperson Janardan Dwivedi later in a rebuttal over Rahul"s claims said that the media had misquoted him.

With television media reports suggesting that such allegations were far from truth, it only forces us to wonder if Rahul confused the 'real" facts while presenting the facts.
