Bangalore, May 16: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on May 15 shot off a protest letter to President, Prime Minister and Union Home Minister against Governor's move to recommend central rule in the state, saying no attempt should be made to create a constitutional crisis when his government had majority.

"The Governor is trying to destabilise the government by joining hands with opposition parties. I have written letters to the President, Prime Minister and Home Minister", Yeddyurappa told reporters here.

The Chief Minister said he has convened a Cabinet meeting on May 16, which would be preceded by a meeting of the legislature party to take stock of the developments and to discuss future course of plans.

"Through some reliable source, I have learnt that the Governor has recommended for President's rule. Despite my government enjoying comfortable majority he has done it", Yeddyyrappa said, slamming Governor H R Bhardwaj's actions.

The chief minister said in his letter to President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister P Chidambaram he had appealed that no attempt should be made to create a constitutional crisis when his government had majority.
