Clinton has said that he had no inclination about what the US administration was up to and was as much surprised on Osama death news as any other common American.
The former President was quoted by the New York Post as saying, "When Hillary got on the Armed Services Committee, which is right after she became a senator, I made up my mind that as long as she was there -- and then she became secretary of state -- I would never take a security briefing unless asked to do so by the president for a specific reason."
He added, "And you will be proud that I, like all Americans, knew nothing about the bin Laden operation, which had been debated in the administration in a tiny number of hands for months, until the president called and told me."
Clinton also informed that he tried calling Hillary twice on the day on which Operation Geronimo took place, but was informed that 'She's at the White House and can't talk to you'.
It can be recalled that US Navy SEALS on May 1, in a late night raid on a mansion in Abottabad, Pakistan killed Osama bin Laden, the al Qaeda supremo and the master mind of many terror attacks including the devastating 9/11 attacks. The raid was code named Operation Geronimo.
