Mayawati, without leaving a single inch for the agitated leaders, took a hand on Congress' Rahul Gandhi to BJP's Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley. On Wednesday, May 11, Uttar Pradesh police briefly arrested Rahul while he was accompanying the protesting farmers.
Now, on Thursday, the state police has arrested Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley who showed immense protest and voiced against the BSP leader, Mayawati's government.
Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley have been taken into preventive custody when Singh held fast for 24 hours with the support of the farmers.
Mayawati on Thursday, during a press meet, said, "The allegations are not true. Land was not taken for expressway or for a private builder. It was taken for development of Greater Noida's master plan. Congress, Samajwadi Party and other opposition parties are trying to mislead the people. They are trying to disrupt law and order. Bhatta Parsaul is an example of that."
The CM also informed, "Farmers of that village (Bhatta Parsaul) had sold the land in 2009-2010 to the Greater Noida authority. They had taken compensation. Issue was not related to compensation then. They were incited by political parties."
Criticising the agitated leaders, Mayawati also chided, "No matter how big or influential a leader is, if he takes the law into his own hands, he will not be spared; strict action will be taken against him. Marinating law and order in the state is our government's top priority."
