Bannerghatta National Park (BNP) in Bangalore and the Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens in Mysore announced the launch of a unique guide system that provides audio guide to the visitors. The audio guide, available in English and Kannada, will describe about the amazing facts of animals, life cycle and their food habits.
The Audio Guide system, which has been launched in association with Boltell, can be activated while entering the zoo. The scratch card, starting from Rs 10, sold at the ticket counters can be used to activate the audio guide. Users can activate the service by entering the secret number on their mobile phones.
Users can listen to exclusive information on a particular animal or bird by entering the number on its enclosure. If they want to listen more, users can buy Rs 20 coupon, which lasts for a whole hour. Rs 10 coupon will give half an hour commentary.
"The new audio guide has been introduced with the aim of reaching out to animal lovers, especially children. At present, the guide covers nearly 45 animals in the BNP. We will extend the number of animals covered, and we will also offer the service in other languages," said Krishnakumar, deputy director, BNP.
"It hard to explain everything about the different animals to all the visitors. These days, almost everyone has a mobile phone, and this device would make it easy to convey information to visitors," said Markandeiah, director, Mysore Zoo.
