Sharing his thoughts on Laden's death, the real estate Mogul said, "I think it's so great that he was caught and I hope he really suffered a lot, to be honest with you...And I suspect he did. But he's a bad guy, and that's what happens."
He was making an appearance at the Costume Institute Gala held at New York's Metropolitan Museum on May 2.
Waxing eloquent about the Armed forces, he termed them as "great people that were able to do this so well and so surgically," but was skeptical of any possible changes in the global terrorism front. He said, "I don't know. We'll have to see."
Earlier on May 2, he had issued a statement to the ABC News, congratulating the US President Barack Obama and said, "I want to personally congratulate President Obama and the men and women of the Armed Forces for a job well done...I am so proud to see Americans standing shoulder to shoulder, waving the American flag in celebration of this great victory...We should spend the next several days not debating party politics, but in remembrance of those who lost their lives on 9/11 and those currently fighting for our freedom. God Bless America!"
