The new BlackBerry Bold Touch was launched after a series of speculations and leaks. Earlier, RIM planned to launch this smartphone in the name Dakota, but finally stayed with the name Bold, which was another successful smartphone from RIM. Later, the new BlackBerry Bold Touch leaked through RIM's website just few days before the launch.
The new BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 and Touch 9930 have almost identical features, but the later supports quad-band GSM and dual-band HSPA+ global roaming. The main attraction of these smartphones are its brand new BlackBerry OS 7 powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor and 768MB RAM.
BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900 and Touch 9930 have 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen displays with 640x480 pixels resolution. The QWERTY Keyboard and the optical Trackpad make this smartphones a valued business class model. The 'touch and type' feature adds more fun to use this smartphones.
RIM's new BlackBerry Bold Touch mobiles offer 5 megapixel camera at rear with LED flash that is capable of recording 720p video. These mobiles have an internal memory of 8 GB, which can be extended up to 32 GB using micro SD cards.
Connectivity options on the phones include dual-band Wi-Fi - 802.11 b/g/n at 2.4 GHz and 802.11 a/n at 5 GHz, NFC support, GPS with A-GPS and Bluetooth.
