Toronto, Apr 30: Amidst rumours of the new BlackBerry smartphones launch, a teaser of new BlackBerry Bold smartphone with touchscreen appeared on Research In Motion's (RIM) website, but was removed later.

The new teaser leaked as the world expects new BlackBerry smartphone at the annual BlackBerry World conference, which is scheduled on May 3-5 in Florida. It is expected that RIM will announce new smartphones and the brand new operating system Blackberry 7 at the event.

According to the leaked teaser, the new BlackBerry Bold Touch or Touch 9900 will run on Blackberry OS 7 and has a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 640 × 480. This new smartphone will have a full QWERTY keypad with trackpad.

The new BlackBerry Bold Touch will give a brand new look to the user with Touch & Type feature. Bold 9900 boasts a 5 megapixel camera, which is capable of recording HD videos.

Moreover, we can expect the Near Field Communication (NFC) technology on Bold Touch. It helps the users to use this smartphone for e-purchase and other transactions by waving the phone on NFC compatible devices. Other features on the phone include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and BlackBerry Messenger etc. Using the new Bold Touch, users can download various apps from BlackBerry App World.

With the new flagship smartphones, RIM is planning to regain its lost market to Android smartphones and Apple's iconic iPhone. A recent survey conducted by Nelson Co. in United States, indicated that new smartphone buyers prefer Android phones over iPhone and BlackBerry devices. The survey revealed that only 11 per cent respondents want to buy a BlackBerry smartphone.
