Another Indian killed in USA; Andhra Pradesh mourns

Trenton, Apr 30: Once again an NRI has become the victim of brutality abroad. 52-year-old Arjun Dyapa Reddy has been killed in USA on Friday, Apr 29. Mr Reddy was shot in chest, local newspaper reported on Saturday, Apr 30.

Mr Reddy, who hailed from Andhra Pradesh, was the owner of Brunswick Pharmacy. Though, the intention behind the murder has not yet been clear, Police sources suspects a 18-19 year-old black man with dreadlocks who was seen running out of the shop soon after the murder.

The murder raised questions about people's safety in the city. Citing the tension among citizens, Mayor Tony Mack stated, "Safety in the City of Trenton is a priority. The recent sudden increase in crime cannot continue. The Trenton Police Department and community leaders continue to aggressively address this issue."

"Right now, we need residents to speak without fear and to work in conjunction with the Trenton Police Department by immediately sharing valuable information. We are urging you to share information confidentially by calling Crime Stoppers at (609) 278-8477 or the Trenton Police Tip Line (609) 989-3663," urged the Mayor.

There are reports that the deceased is a distant relative of Union Environment Minister S Jaipal Reddy and had also tried to contest Assembly election from Kalwakurthy constituency of Mahaboobnagar district in 2009.
