Samsung officially launches Nexus S in India @ Rs 29,590
With the launch of Nexus S, Samsung plans to overtake the Finnish brand Nokia in the smartphone sector. Nokia is the most popular mobile brand in India, but it lacks serious presence in the smartphone sector. The recently launched Nokia E7 failed to cop-up Nokia's expectations as this smartphone had a high price. Moreover, with the emergence of Android smartphones by Samsung, HTC, Dell and Micromax, Nokia has been facing set back in India.
The new Samsung Nexus S has a 4-inch Contour Display that is specially designed to fit comfortably in user's palm and along the side of the face. It runs on Google 2.3 Gingerbread OS powered with 1GHz Hummingbird processor with 16 GB internal memory.
The Near Field Communication (NFC) makes it unique from all other smartphones available in the country. Nexus S is the first smartphone to offer NFC technology, which lets users read information from everyday objects that have NFC tags.
The Google Nexus S has a 5 megapixel camera at rear with LED flash and a front-facing VGA camera for video calling. Other features on the phone include 16 GB internal memory, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 etc.
