Sony Ericsson W8 walkman phone to hit India by May
Sony Ericsson W8 is the company's first Android Walkman series phone. The new W8 combines Walkman functionality with smartphone fundamentals such as apps, maps and email to create the most entertaining smartphone. As it is a Walkman phone, users can enjoy unlimited music and all essential features of a smartphone with extra battery life.
The new W8 has a 3-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display with 320 x 480 pixels resolution. Sony Ericsson claimed that the display screen of W8 is Scratch-resistant and supports Accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and Proximity sensor for auto turn-off. W8 runs on Android 2.1 Eclair operating system and is powered with 600 MHz ARM 11 processor and 168 MB RAM.
Sony Ericsson W8 boasts a 3.15 camera at rear with 2048x1536 pixels resolution. The camera also supports video capturing with VGA quality. The stereo FM radio with RDS makes this smartphone a real walkman phone.
Other features on the phone include 3G support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.1 etc. The SNS integration helps the users to connect to their friends through Facebook, Twitter etc.

Sony Ericsson claimed that the W8 smartphone will offer up to 5 hours of talktime and 24 hours of music play. Sony Ericsson has not yet announced the official price and release date of W8 smartphone in India. Stay tuned for more updates.
