CWG row: CBI likely to arrest Kalmadi; quizzed for 4th time
Sources from Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) hinted that the sacked Commonwealth Games (CWG) organising chief Suresh Kalmadi may be arrested today (Monday, Apr 25). The CBI has gathered enough evidence to nail Kalmadi, sources informed.
Kalmadi on Monday arrived at the CBI headquarters as he was summoned by the investigating agency over the irregularities in the Commonwealth Games 2010.
It seems that Kalmadi may confront the toughest grilling that he has faced so far. This is the fourth time that CBI summoned the former CWG OC head for questioning.
A two-member CBI team has returned from London accumulating crucial evidence against Kalmadi over time scoring equipment scam and contracts with Swiss timing during the Delhi Games.
CBI sources, on the condition of anonymity, informed that CBI has got a video recording of an OC meet in the capital where Kalmdi and his associate, VK Verma announced the awarding of time scoring equipment contract to Swiss timing.
