Bhushans unlikely to quit Lokpal; team Anna supports Shanti
The prominent supporters of Anna Hazare - RTI activists Arvind Kejriwal and social activist Kiran Bedi on Thursday, Apr 21 claimed that the Bhushans did not commit "anything wrong."
"We are behind the Bhushans and they will not resign from the Lokpal panel," stated Arvind Kejriwal while answering in a press conference.
Mr Kejriwal also informed that they will move the Supreme Court and will file a PIL to initiate a probe in the whole CD and land controversies which have entangled Shanti Bhushans, the co-chairman of the joint committee to draft the anti-corruption bill - Lokpal Bill.
Establishing Bhushans' important contribution in the country's progress, Kiran Bedi said, "We appeal to Shanti Bhushan and his son not to resign from the panel."
Recently, the Bhushans have been centered in a CD controversy which allegedly contains conversation of Mulayam Singh Yadav, Amar Singh and Shanti Bhushan. During the conversation, Shanti Bhushan allegedly asked for money to file a PIL. In another controversy, the Bhushans allegedly received a farm land from Mayawati government at a throwaway price.
On Thursday, when Delhi police claimed that the CD was "not doctored", former Samajwadi party leader Amar Singh asserted, "Bhushans should resign from Lokpal panel."
Replying to Amar Singh's statement, Mr Kejriwal said, "I wanted to clarify that no one is resigning from Lokpal panel."
