Kolkata, Apr 20: Former Indian skipper Mohammed Azharuddin is once again back on the field to bat for Bengal. Don't be surprised. Read on to get the real piece of news.

Azharuddin, will participate in the election campaign for Congress to owe the Muslim voters in the state. The assembly polls has been started in West Bengal from Apr 18. The rest five phases of polls are yet to be held.

While, Congress' ally in the state, Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress nominated Riswanur Rehman's brother Rukbanur as the candidate from the Muslim-dominated Nadia district, Congress will use Azharuddin's star popularity to get the Muslim votes.

It seems that Mamata Banerjee and Congress will not leave a single inch to the Left to grab the Muslim votes that comes over 27% in the state. The Trinamool chief has already promised quick implementation of the 'Sachar Committee report' which offers jobs for Muslims.

To grab the Muslim vote bank in West Bengal, the Congress has now used its trump cards - Mohammad Azharuddin and Ghulam Nabi Azad.

While campaigning for the Congress, the former skipper admitted, "We (Congress) have always been bothered about minorities." The recent move by the Congress raised questions - whether the party is losing faith in its key ally in the state - Trinamool?
