While, Congress' ally in the state, Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress nominated Riswanur Rehman's brother Rukbanur as the candidate from the Muslim-dominated Nadia district, Congress will use Azharuddin's star popularity to get the Muslim votes.
It seems that Mamata Banerjee and Congress will not leave a single inch to the Left to grab the Muslim votes that comes over 27% in the state. The Trinamool chief has already promised quick implementation of the 'Sachar Committee report' which offers jobs for Muslims.
To grab the Muslim vote bank in West Bengal, the Congress has now used its trump cards - Mohammad Azharuddin and Ghulam Nabi Azad.
