New Delhi, Apr 16: Another big name has emerged in the whole controversy of black money case. This time Pondicherry Lt Governor Iqbal Singh has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for the interrogation over his alleged role with Hasan Ali.

ED sources informed that the ED officials will interrogate Iqbal Singh and Uttar Pradesh principal secretary Vijay Shankar Pandey in connection with the passport procured by stud farm owner Hasan Ali Khan and some investments done by him abroad.

Iqbal Singh allegedly helped Hasan Ali to manage a passport when Singh was a Congress leader in Bihar. Now, the ED could not summon Singh directly as Singh is the Lt Governor of Pondicherry.

As the Lt Governor, Singh enjoys the Parliamentary immunity and the ED must have the permission from the Home Ministry to inquire Singh regarding his alleged connection with Hasan Ali.

Sources said summons have been already issued to Iqbal while the same to Pandey will be issued next week following the questioning of a Bihar politician, Amalendu Pandey, by the Directorate in Mumbai.

Ali is also accused of massive money-laundering, tax evasion and stashing away huge amounts in foreign banks.
