Chennai, Apr 7: There are only 5 days remaining for the crucial Tamil Nadu Assembly Election which will be held on Apr 13. All parties, including ruling DMK, are campaigning with full zeal. But ahead of the election, Jayalalithaa's party AIADMK seem to have engaged in some problem with its key ally DMDK, led by Vijayakant.

The actor-turned-politician Vijayakant skipped the joint rally in Coimbatore on Wednesday, Apr 6, though was represented by his party's presidium chairman Panruti Ramachandran.

Vijayakant, who was seen campaigning at Nagapattinam on the same day, was engaged in a spat with Jayalalithaa's party when DMDK leader had, recently, claimed that the AIADMK had taken away most of their winnable seats. However, taking all measures to save its ally, Jayalalithaa allotted around 30 seats to the DMDK.

Meanwhile, continuing his rallies, DMK supremo M Karunanidhi stated, "We have to win the elections to ensure that tyrannous rulers are not in power," and also added, "We will seek votes by talking about our achievements."

DMK, recently, held a joint rally with Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the state. During his campainging on Wednesday, Karunanidhi reiterated that he did not ask Congress leader Sonia Gandhi to help him get votes, but requested her to ensure the implementation of the "Sethu Samudram" project and make "Tamil" the official language.

Taking a hand on the main Opposition leader Jayalalithaa, Karunanidhi stated that he had experienced tough time in prisons and participated in several struggles, unlike many who had only seen prisons during film shootings.
