The new iPad 2 advertisement shows the ease of touch and pinch zoom technology. The 31 second ad shows various features of iPad 2, but kept silence on the technological specifications. The new ad reveals the ease of using e-books, music apps, touchscreen painting etc on iPad 2. The new commercial also demonstrated exclusive iPad 2 apps like iPhoto, the iBook and Garageband app.
"This is what we believe. Technology alone is not enough. Faster, thinner, lighter - those are all good things. But when technology gets out of the way, everything becomes more delightful, even magical. That"s when you leap forward. That"s when you end up with something like this," voice over in the ad described.
Apple launched the second version iPad on Mar 2, 2011 during a special Apple event at San Francisco. Apple iPad 2 has a dual core A5 processor, brand new iOS 4.3 processor, a rear facing camera which is capable of recording 720p HD video up to 30 frames per second, and a front-facing VGA camera. Apple started the sale of iPad 2 on Mar 11 in United States and on Mar 25 in various European countries. Within three days, Apple managed to sell more than 500,000 "Lighter, Faster and Thinner" iPad 2. Various media reported that the earthquake and tsunami happened in Japan caused the production of iPad 2 and affected the sale in various markets.
With the new ad, Apple intended to tell the easiness of using the iPad 2 over other tablets. Since the launch of Samsung Galaxy Tab nad Motorola Xoom, Apple has been facing intense competition in tablets market. Any how, with the iPad 2 launch, Apple regained its upper hand.
