Sandalwood mafia beats govt official to death

Adilabad, Mar 31: Yet another government official has been killed while on duty by the sandalwood mafia flourishing in Andhra Pradesh. The forest officer, Satyanarayana was allegedly beaten to death with sticks as revealed by villagers.

Investigations are on to nab the culprits who perpetrated this heinous crime. Satyanarayana died on the spot due to fatal injuries. Sandalwood smugglers are rampant in the area and have been unleashing terror on those living in the interiors of Andhra Pradesh.

There are also questions being raised on what protective gear they had in their person when going for such searches. Satyanarayana ventured to the area after receiving a tip-off, that smuggling was rampant in the area. According to witnesses, 3 smugglers were involved. Teak wood smuggling is also prevalent in the area.

The Sandalwood mafia can easily be classified as a group of goons engaged in organized crime. The instances of some crime were reported mostly in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka according to the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) attached to the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF).

This news comes after the gruesome murder of the Additional District Collector of Malegaon, Yashwant Sonawane by the Kerosene Mafia in Maharashtra and the the attack on the government official in Sangli, Maharashtra Srinivas Patil who was attacked by the sand mafia.
