Bing search brings realtime Facebook & Twitter updates

San Francisco, Mar 30: Computer giant Microsoft updated its search engine Bing with realtime results from social networking sites Facebook and Twitter. Bing users will be able to see the latest updates in Facebook and Twitter for a search query.

Bing's new partnership with Facebook and Twitter lets users to post their own updates and share links via Bing"s own interface. The Bing News search will show the latest trending topic in the two, world's largest social networking platforms.

"Now alongside the latest headlines on Bing News, you will find a real-time feed with the latest updates from Twitter highlighting hot news topics. Search for a news item and immediately see what people are tweeting on the topic. As we"ve seen with the tragedy in Japan or political turmoil in the Middle East, real people are relaying timely and compelling items not captured by traditional outlets. Bing news now lets you compare and assess authoritative news analysis alongside real-time citizen journalists so that you can decide which content sources you want to use," said Betsy Aoki, Bing's Senior Program Manager in Bing blog.

The Bing entertainment users can also discover and share share movies, tv shows, actors, bands and artists to Facebook. Bing entertainment pages now enable users to click on the "overview" tab and post "what"s on your mind." Whether it"s a movie, a video game or even an artist, users can share their thoughts with just one click.
