DMK-led alliance complain to EC about DGP's statement
"This sort of alarming announcement before assembly polls by the DGP will definitely create a scare in the minds of voters and the voters may restrain from voting because of fear psychology," a representation made by the DMK-led Democratic Progressive Alliance to Chief Electoral officer Praveen Kumar said.
It demanded suitable action against the "misleading announcement of the DGP."
The statement will make voters living outside Tamil Nadu to assume that the state is a "disturbed area" , it said, adding, there were no warranting circumstances to announce that all the constituencies were sensitive.
The Election Commission had recently ordered the transfer of DGP Letika Saran and appointed Bhola Nath as DGP for the conduct of elections but Saran went on leave last week following which he assumed additional charge.
