'Jayalalithaa with allies will mar Karuna's DMK reign in TN'
A poll, conducted by LensOnNews.com, showed that AIADMK with its allies will win a tally of 144 seats in the 234-member assembly, well above the half-way mark of 117 seats. Though the opinion poll also claimed that no party will have the majority win.
According the poll, the present ruling party - DMK will end up with 88 seats. The poll was conducted among a representative, cross-sectional sample of nearly 3,000 voters in 12 carefully constituencies in the state.
It has been observed that DMK has faced several controversial situation which marred the image of the party to an extend. The jittery of DMK began with 2G spectrum scam which continued with A Raja, Sadiq Batcha and Kalaignar housing controversy.
While DMK's star attraction Khushboo has been arrested over violating election code, popular actor Vijayakant and Sarathkumar ensured AIADMK about their support to Jayalalithaa and alliance.
The two major parties in Tamil Nadu have started their election campaigns with full zeal. DMK supremo Karunanidhi and AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa did not leave a single inch for their opposition to rule.
Both parties' manifestos, which are believed to be populist one, competed with each other. Tamil Nadu will hold election on Apr 13 and the counting will be held on May 13. So, within 45 days or so, it will be clear that who wins and who loses the Tamil Nadu battleground.
