Tri Service Commanders conference from Mar

Port Blair, Mar 22: The Tri Services Commanders Conference for South East Theatre - 2011 will be held at Port Blair from Mar 23 to 25. For the first time Andaman and Nicobar Command will host the high level conference at Port Blair.

The Commanders-in-Chief of Southern Army Command, Pune, Eastern Naval Command, Kochi, Southern Naval Command, Visakhapatnam, Southern Air Command Thiruvanthapuram and other senior officers from the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (IDS), New Delhi will participate in the conference, Commander Abhinav Bare, the PRO of the Tri-Services Command here told PTI.

The conference will be preceded by a meeting of the Joint Services Study Group which will deliberate on all communication issues pertaining to the joint services environment.

ANC being the only operational tri-services Command of the country, is an important participant of the tri services conference since its inception.

The Commanders-in-Chief and other senior visiting officers will discuss issues pertaining to the present security scenario in the Southeast region of the country and in the Islands, inter-service communication and logistics issues.

Issues pertaining to Joint operations and exercises at different levels and scale among the participating Commands will also be deliberated in the three day conference, Bare added.
