Himachal Pradesh
Shimla, Mar 18: Body-bagging seems to be the latest trend in the peaking crime scene in the country especially against women. A blatant instance of gross gruesomeness and utter lack of respect for human life was reflected once again when the body of a 32 year old woman and a 9 year old child was recovered from two suitcases near the Markanda river, Shimla.

The suitcase was found on the banks of the river near the Nahan–Paonta road and according to preliminary investigation appeared to be thrown from a height. Local residents found the 32-inch suitcase carrying the dead body. The suitcase with the nine year old girl was found on Wednesday night and a detailed search in the vicinity revealed the woman's body.

A police team led by SP Punita Bhardwaj is investigating the matter and the identity of both dead bodies are yet to be identified. The police said the modus operandi behind both murders were similar and cases were registered under IPC Section 302 at the Nahan police station. The police also said that the murder appeared to be carried out some place else. The bodies have been sent for postmortem.
