Florida, Mar 18: After a series of leaks and rumors, Nokia set to launch its much rumored smartphone, Nokia X7-00, at the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association Wireless 2011 (CITA) in Florida.

Various sources reported that the new Nokia X7-00 will be announced at a special Nokia event on Mar 21, just a day before the kick start of CITA Wireless show. Earlier, the Nokia Blog posted an invitation to the media which says, "We promised to sell millions more Symbian devices. Join us as we spotlight our latest solution for US customers."

The reports on Nokia X7-00 started to appear after leaked images in Nov 2010. Later, different sources reported the images and specifications of the Nokia X7-00, which suggested that it runs on Symbian 3 platform and boasts a 4-inch AMOLED display.

After the 'official image leak' in Jan 2011, another blog spotted Nokia X700 on wild and revealed major specs. This new Nokia smartphone will have four speakers on the front panel to give extra-multimedia entertainment. This mobile has a 8 megapixel camera at rear, which is capable of recording HD videos. The secondary front-facing camera has 2 megapixel resolution.

Nokia has not yet announced the official launch of Nokia X7-00. Rumor mills also reported that another Nokia smartphone C7 will also be showcased on CITA show under a new name, Nokia Astound. This will be available through T-Mobile at $799.99.

The rumored Nokia X7-00 will be another powerful smartphone after the recently launched Nokia E7 and N8. It seems like Nokia has been planning to get back its lost supremacy in smartphone market. Along with affordable and low-cost mobiles aimed to Next Billion, Nokia plans smartphones to compete with Android devices and Apple iPhones.
