Blatter still has unfinished business in FIFA

By Biswajeet Panda
Kuala Lumpur, Mar 17: If anyone thought that FIFA President Sepp Blatter would be a satiated man after three tenures as the head of football's governing body, then there's news for you. Blatter, has on Mar 17 said that he still has unfinished business at the FIFA and is all set to slug it out for a likely fourth term in the office.

Blatter spoke of his ambitions at Kuala Lumpur while on an Asian tour to garner support for his presidential election.

Currently, in his 13th year as the President of the FIFA, Blatter was quoted as saying, "I feel still full of energy and I've not yet finished my work in FIFA..I'm now in my 13th year of presidency in FIFA, and the 36th year to work in FIFA, so I'm available to the congress."

Undaunted at the prospect of having Asian Football Confederation head Mohammed Bin Hammam as a candidate contesting the Presidential polls against him, Blatter hot back saying, "If there is competition there is competition...I have support from different Asian associations, but I must have the support from whole family of FIFA."

Hammam is yet to announce his decision to contest the polls, but on Twitter he has given an indication of his intention to contest the polls. A few days ago, he had tweeted, "I am happy with most confederations, but I don't know about Europe and how they will deal with my candidacy."

He also wrote, "Europe is the core of football. I would like now to make a real assessment in Europe."
