Kolkata, Mar 17: West Bengal assembly polls is ringing its bell on the door and main opposition party Trinamool Congress has not yet declared its candidate list over seat-sharing spat with ally Congress. Now, it seems that Trinamool chief Mamata has become desperate to finish this logjam and move forward towards election process. To fulfill her resolution, she may snub Congress.

Trinamool has given the ultimatum to Sonia Gandhi led Congress party that if the seat-sharing tiff will not be solved out then Mamata will announce candidate list by Thursday (Mar 17) evening. Trinamool's deadline came on the way of Congress when the party is receiving world-wide criticism over the whistle-blower WikiLeaks' shocking revelation.

WikiLeaks recently, increasing the miseries of Congress, revealed how some Congress leaders offered cash to MPs to win the trust vote on the Indo-US nuclear deal in 2008.

The cables also revealed the aide mentioning that Ajit Singh's Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) was bribed with Rs 10 crore for each of its four MPs to support the government.

Thursday is going to become a hectic day for Congress which is injured from all sides now. Several scams including 2G spectrum, CWG and Adarsh Housing already had marred the "claen" image of the Congress led UPA government. Now, its tenure may soon end after the simultaneous corruption charges in and outside the party.

On Tuesday, Mar 15, Congress' damage controlling leader and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee had a meeting with Mamata Banerjee and finished the meeting with an inconclusive meeting. Congress reportedly demanding 70 seats and Trinamool is not yet ready to allot more than 63. However, reports had earlier claimed that both parties made an agreement on 68 seats.

The state will have elections in six phases. The first phase of voting will take place on Apr 18, second phase on Apr 23, third phase on Apr 27, fourth phase on May 3, fifth phase on May 7 and sixth phase on May 10. Counting will be held on May 13.

Now, all eyes will be on Sonia Gandhi and Congress that how the party will handle the multiple attacks from different sides. Will the party be able to save its ally with Trinamool or will the party able to handle Opposition parties in this scam, corruption tottering days?
