Arattupuzha temple to webcast celebrations live
The festival is a mass celebration of 23 temples and will see the Kerala Tourism taking the initiative to webcast the occasion live from 6 pm on Mar 18 to 2 pm and on Mar 19 for the global audience. The live webcast can be watched on the official channel and on Youtube as well.
The famed pooram has been in existence in Kerala since the last 1,428 years and is known for the colourful pageantry and the decorated pachyderms. Kerala Tourism Secretary, Dr. V. Venu said, “Cultural tourism is a focus area of Kerala Tourism. The culture, festivals and traditions of Kerala, if promoted in a big way, would bring more travelers to the state. The live webcast of Arattupuzha Pooram is a step in this regard."
The webcast aims to capture two days of the seven-day long festival that will see a display of caparisoned elephants, colourful processions, traditional percussion ensembles and special religious rituals.
