Girl allegedly raped in car, four youths taken into custody

Hyderabad, Mar 15: A 19-year-old girl was allegedly raped by five youths in a moving car in Chirala town of Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh, police said today. Four of the accused have been taken into custody, police said.

On the night of March 13, Srinivas Rao, the main accused, phoned the girl and told her that her father had asked him to pick her up from an internet cafe where she worked, police said. The girl believed him and got into the car.

Rao allegedly gave her some sedatives, and raped her. Then he called his friends, who too raped her, police said. The accused also filmed the act, police added.

The girl, a second-year BSc student, was dumped on the roadside by the accused later. She regained consciousness only last night, and approached the police, who took into custody four of the accused, including Rao, while one is on the run.
