The Google and Samsung presented the new Nexus S smartphone featuring the much anticipated Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and powered by 1 GHz Samsung application processor. The Nexus S has a 4-inch Contour Display equipped with Samsung"s brilliant Super AMOLED touch screen technology. The unique feature of the screen is its curved design for a more ergonomic style and feel.
The Nexus S offers a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and another front-facing VGA camera for video calling. The 512 MB RAM and 16 GB internal memory makes it enough powerful to store and play various multimedia files. Nexus S produces rich 3D graphics, faster upload and download times and supports HD-like multimedia content.
Another innovative feature is the near-field communication (NFC) technology, that can beam and receive information at a distance of up to four inches, making it an ideal technology for realizing mobile-phone payment.
"Samsung and Google have worked together to deliver an excellent Android smart phone experience for consumers. It has been our ambition in working with Google to continue to push the Android platform forward and create a smart phone that has both excellent functionality and a stunning user-experience," said Stefan Lecchi, head of Telecommunications, Samsung Electronics New Zealand.
Along with New Zealand, the island nation Taiwan will also get the Nexus S smartphone soon. Samsung and Taiwan Mobile Corp jointly launched a promotion campaign for the release of Nexus S in the country. Earlier, we reported the launch of Google Nexus S in Australia.
However, we are still unavailable to get the official release date of Google Nexus S smartphone in India. The rumor mills, back in Jan 2011, reported that Nexus S will be available in Indian stores within three months. So, surely we can expect this smartphone in India by Apr first week.
