The official MSDN India Twitter account had Tweet saying that, "Launch of Internet Explorer 9 on 24th March at Tech.Ed India 2011." Later this Tweet has been deleted from the Twitter account.
Interestingly, we can expect the launch of IE9 as Brian Hall, GM of Internet Explorer And Windows Live, will be giving a keynote speech on the 24th at the Tech.Ed event. Earlier in Feb 2011, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said that Internet Explorer is expected to release on Mar 2011.
Other features on IE9 include Tracking Protection, hardware-accelerated graphics rendering using Direct2D, ActiveX filter, hardware-accelerated text rendering using DirectWrite, hardware-accelerated video rendering using Media Foundation, imaging support provided by Windows Imaging Component, and high fidelity printing powered by the XPS print pipeline.
Internet Explorer 9 also supports the HTML5 video and audio tags and the Web Open Font Format. This web browser will be available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
Microsoft Internet Explorer is the most widely used browser in the world. But in recent times, Microsoft IE has been facing high competition from other browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Safari. With the launch of IE9, Microsoft aims to regain its lost market shares.
