Samsung to unveil 8.9-inch tablet on March 22
It seems like Seoul based Samsung has been taking full advantage of Apple iPad2 delay by the release ad teaser for the new tablet. Samsung has started a dedicated page for the Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2011 Special Episode. Samsung would launch the new 8.9-inch tablet at CTIA Wireless event on Mar 22.
The Samsung Unpacked website shows an ad with image of an tablet and number '78910'. The tablet featured in the ad has a front-facing camera and also depicted a honeycomb design, which means the new tablet would be powered of Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS.
The mystery behind '78910' numbers still unknown. We can assume that it shows the screen size of the three versions of Galaxy Tab. The first version Samsung Galaxy Tab had a 7-inch screen and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 with 10-inch screen. That means, the third version will have 8.9-inch screen.
Samsung plans to dominate the all segments of tablet market with devices ranging from 7-inch to 10-inch screen sizes. The medium (8.9-inch) will be aimed at the users who look for an easy portable device with all advanced features. Samsung has not yet announced any specifications and features of the new 8.9-inch tablet. We've to wait for more updates and at the same time, stay tuned for the exclusive launch, specs and review of the new Apple iPad 2, that would be launched on Mar 2.
