God's wrath on Kalmadi? Bank lockers raided

Pune, Mar 1: It seems that God is not at all happy with the sacked Commonwealth Games (CWG) organising committee (OC) chief Suresh Kalmadi. In a recent jittery to Kalmadi, his five bank lockers have been raided by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials on Tuesday, Mar 1.

The investigative agency from New Delhi conducted the raids in all bank lockers of Kalmadi in Pune to get more evidence against his alleged wrongdoings during the Delhi Games which was held in Oct 2010.

CBI had already sealed several bank lockers of the former CWG chief when his residences and offices in New Delhi and in Pune were raided by the investigating agency.

Secret sources informed that Kalmadi's arrest is now imminent as his involvement in all the dubious deals of CWG is almost clear with evidence.

Though few days back, Kalmadi claimed, "I can vouch that I have not gained financially even a single rupee out of these games and if proved otherwise I am prepared to step down as a Member of Parliament."

Government has fianlised a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe in 2G spectrum scam. Now, citing the government's new move on JPC probe, Kalamadi also has raised the demand of initiating a JPC investigation in the irregularities of the Games.

Kalmadi's several aides have been so far over the last couple of months. Today (Mar 1), another two CWG officials - Lalit Bhanot and V K Verma have been sent to Tihar jail under 14-day judicial custody.

Verma and Bhanot were arrested over their alleged roles in granting a Rs 107 crore contract to a Swiss timer company durimng CWG 2010.
