State position on chargesheet against Khanna: BJP to Amarinder
Ludhiana, Feb 27 (PTI) BJP today asked former PunjabChief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to state his positionon the CBI chargesheet against former Congress MLA ArvindKhanna in a case of violation of the Foreign ContributionRegulation Act (FCRA) registered in 2007.
This was demanded in the two-day BJP working committeemeeting that concluded here today.
CBI on Friday had filed a chargesheet in Delhi''s TisHazari court against Khanna accusing him of receiving about Rs7 crore from foreign firms without obtaining permission fromauthorities and thus violating the provisions of FCRA.
BJP vice president Shanta Kumar said the corruption isnot a political issue, but was a serious national problem andCongress-led UPA government at the Centre lacks will to sortout the menace.
The BJP will soon launch a nation-wide massmovement against corruption, he told reporters.
Kumar supported the "crusade" of yoga guru Baba Ramdevagainst corruption. "Baba Ramdev is doing a great service tothe country," he added.
The meeting was presided by the Punjab BJP chiefAshwani Kumar Sharma.
