Raje afraid of being quizzed about links with Modi: Gehlot
Jaipur, Feb 27 (PTI) Hitting back at Vasundhara Raje foraccusing his government of being corrupt, Rajasthan ChiefMinister Ashok Gehlot today said she is getting back her postas the Leader of Opposition in state Assembly because she maybe afraid of being quizzed about her alleged links with formerIPL chief Lalit Modi.
"She may have fear of being quizzed for her connectionwith former IPL commissioner Lalit Modi. Hence, she is gettingthe post of leader of opposition," Gehlot told reporters onthe sidelines of a function here.
Asking Raje to exercise restraint and not to levelbaseless allegations against the state government, the chiefminister said, "Everybody knows that corruption during herregime was rampant and Lalit Modi enjoyed unconstitutionalpowers in the state due to her."
After being elected BJP Legislature Party leader hereyesterday which paves the way for her reinstatement as theLeader of Opposition in state Assembly, Raje had said that thestate government was involved in corrupt practices.
Earlier, Gehlot flagged off a vintage car rally at ahotel in the Pink City in the presence of state Tourismminister Bina Kak and a host of senior government officials.
