Vijayawada, Feb 27 (PTI) Union minister of State forRailways K H Muniyappa today said that seven new projects at acost of Rs 3,745 crore has been sanctioned for Andhra Pradeshduring the Rail Budget 2011-12.
Another 14 projects at a cost of Rs 2709.49 crore havealso been announced for the state in the budget by RailwayMinister Mamata Banerjee, which would be taken up by in the12th five-year plan period, he told reporters here.
In addition to the above projects, another Rs 942.38crore was allocated for ongoing projects in Andhra Pradesh,Muniyappa said.
He said that a multi functional complex was sanctionedfor Secunderabad and Guntur, while Karimnagar and Kamareddystations would be developed as ''Adarsh'' stations.
The bogeys of MEMU suburban trains running inSecunderabad and Hyderabad will be increased from 6 to 8, headded.
