Anand urge govt to install university to use facilities here

Ranchi, Feb 26 (PTI) Jharkhand Olympic Association chiefR K Anand today requested the government to establish a sportsuniversity to make use of the facilities of Mega SportsComplex which staged the 34th National Games here.

Addressing a jam-packed stadium, Anand said, "We have abeautiful infrastructure in place here. I request thegovernment to consider this for establishing a sportsuniversity here."

"Also I request to allot more coaching and training campshere," Anand said.

"After the state was formed in 2000, we tried to host theNational Games here to unearth the talents here. We requestedthe IOA to grant us the Games and we are thankful to them.

There had been many hurdles and finally we have becomesuccessful in putting up a great show," Anand said.

Built in the outskirts of Ranchi, Mega Sports Complex inHotwar has all the infrastructures including cyclingvelodrome, synthetic athletics track, aquatics venue, indoorstadiums that is needed to host a multi-disciplinecompetition.
