Srinagar, Feb 26 (PTI) JKLF chief Mohammad Yasin Maliktoday staged a day-long hunger strike here demanding justiceto the family of those killed during last summer''s unrest andrelease of youth arrested on stone-pelting charges.
Malik, supported by several leaders from the moderatefaction of Hurriyat Conference and human rights activists,sat on the hunger strike at Maisuma locality near thecommercial hub of Lal Chowk.
The JKLF chief, who has filed a petition in the stateHigh Court seeking registration of cases against securitypersonnel responsible for the over 110 killings last year,demanded that police should stop arresting youths immediately.
He also called for release of all the youth arrestedon stone-pelting charges and those who are languishing injails even after courts have quashed their detention orders.
Relatives of the youth killed during last summer alsotook part in the dharna.
