Salgaocar to be cautious against ONGC

Margao, Feb 26 (PTI) Salgaocar will be their cautiousbest when they play against ONGC tomorrow in the return matchof the I-League, played at Nehru Stadium, Fatorda here.

ONGC which has the distinction of being the first team tobeat East Bengal and holding fancy Churchill Brothers and PuneFC to a draw, makes them a dangerous side and a difficult teamto beat.

Salgaocar, which is now sitting pretty on top with 34points, three points ahead of second place East Bengal, willbe looking to consolidate their position.

While ONGC, who held Indians Arrows to a draw in theirlast match after beating mighty East Bengal are fighting toavoid relegation are placed second from behind with 11 points,Salgaocar''s disciplined and organised performance throughouthas earned them the top position and the credit goes to theircoach karim Bencherifa who moulded the youngsters to play as acohesive unit.

Wingers Gilbert Oliveira, Francis Fernandes and AnthonyBarboso has played well on the flanks, providing the rightcrosses for gangling striker Rjuji Seouka who has been themost successful striker scoring 12 goals, is placed secondbehind Churchill Brothers Odafe Okolie in the scoring chart.

Salgaocar, who holds edge over their rivals having beatenthem by a lone goal in their away match also has thephysicological advantage of playing at home.

Its coach Karim Bencherifa is happy the way his boys areplaying, especially the youngsters.

Now that they have managed to overcome East Begal at thetop, things will be more tougher from now on inorder toconsolidate their position.

"The boys needs to remain more focus and keep on winning.

Our opponent are a dangerous team who has the ability to beatthe top team and we have to remain more cautious and play ourattacking game to secure full points," stated Bencherifa.
