Rangasamy sore over ''absence'' of developmental schemes
Puducherry, Feb 25 (PTI): The present Congress governmentin Puducherry has not formulated any new schemes and also''failed'' students, unemployed youth, poor and other sectionsof people, former Chief Minister N Rangasamy said today.
Speaking at a meeting of his party, the all India NRCongress, he urged people to support his nominees in thecoming assembly polls and ensure that the government wasousted from power.
Rangasamy, who was unseated from power in August 2008following a year long revolt against his leadership by histhen ministerial colleagues said he had stepped down fromoffice as per the directives of the Congress high command.
The present government led by Vaithilingam assumed officeon Sept 4, 2008 and it has those who were his ministerialcolleagues, including Vaithilingam. Local AdministrationMinister A Namassivayam, a relative of Rangasamy is anotherincumbent in the six member ministry).
Rangasamy alleged that the government had done nothing inthe last two and half years for students, unemployed youth andweaker sections and the development had remained staticwithout any new schemes since then.
He promised that his party, if voted to power in the comingpolls, would live upto the expectations of the people.
